Hi again loves!
It’s been awhile since I posted, so I figured I would share the products I’ve used over the last several months.
Hair Products ππ»ββοΈ
Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo
I don’t have colored hair, but I bought this for the rose smell. Did a good job of cleansing my hair and left it smelling fresh. It didn’t quite smell too “rosy” or floral but I still enjoyed it.
Tonymoly Hair Mayo
I originally was suckered into this by the cute package/name. I got the coconut vanilla version. People in the K-beauty community seem to like this, but it did nothing for my hair. I actually felt like it made my hair wind up more tangled/stiff.
Garnier Papaya Damage Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner
To be honest, the cute packaging is what drew me into this shampoo and conditioner. It smells amazing and did a decent job of conditioning my hair and leaving it soft. I would repurchase this again.
Maui Detoxifying Volcanic Ash Shampoo/Conditioner π
I’m sad that these seemingly are no longer being made, because it works decently well to clarify my hair. I bought several bottles when it was on clearance at CVS to last me awhile. It smells really good and doesn’t weigh down my hair. It foams up nicely and my hair feels clean after using this.
Bed Head Elasticate Conditioner
This was awful, and I threw out half the bottle. I was surprised because Bed Head is prestige haircare but this just left my hair feeling like straw and super tangled. Yuck.
Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo, Conditioner and Deep Conditoner π―
I swear this works better than some of my high end shampoos and conditioners. It smells amazing and makes my hair feel soft and silky. I have super long hair and this takes care of the knots well. I already repurchased a giant size from Costco!
LβOreal Damaging Erasing Balm
This worked well on my long ass hair, took out knots and left it soft. It smelled really good and was affordable. To be honest, I had this for awhile so I have no idea if L’OrΓ©al even still makes this but I assume they have something similar if not.
Makeup and Body π πΌπ
Pretty Vulgar Mascara
I actually really liked this Pretty Vulgar Faux Reals one. Itβs super black which I love, and adds so much volume and length. I have to put it on slowly, as it is a rich formula that could clump. It left my lashes looking so full and dark, would definitely repurchase.
MAC Prep and Prime Fix +
I like to use this product after putting on foundation/bronzer to set the makeup before putting on highlighter. It prevents my makeup from looking too cakey and gives skin a soft finish.
Too Faced Bottle of Unicorn Tears Highlighter Drops π¦
I had such high hopes for this and it was awful. The drops were so messy and watery. There was absolutely no highlight on my face and it kind of just sunk in.
DKNY Be Delicious Perfume π
I have been wearing this since the end of high school and it’s still a favorite of mine. It smells really fresh and the scent lasts all day. I always get compliments on this when I’m wearing it. You can usually find this at TJ Maxx for a great price. The packaging is also super cute and apple shaped.
Burberry Perfume
Another classic perfume I’ve been wearing since high school. I also get a lot of compliments on this perfume as well. This feels like more of a fall/winter scent to me. Will wear this til the end of time!
Marc Jacobs Honey Perfume π―
This comes in the most adorable bottle, perfect for shelfies and vanities. I love the smell, but this perfume just didn’t last on my skin. I probably wouldn’t repurchase because of this, and maybe it would work better for someone else. It’s a nice citrusy smell that’s not too overpowering.
Dolce and Gabbana Dolce Perfume πΈ
This was a gift from an ex (haha) but I wound up loving this scent and would definitely repurchase. It’s floral, but not overpowering. This lasted all day for me, and the bottle is really pretty with a flower top.
Victoria Secret Angel Perfume πΌπΌ
I’m sad that VS stopped making this scent because I love it! I always got compliments when I wore this, it lasted all day but wasn’t heavy.
Korres Shower Gel
Occasionally you can find these at TJ Maxx/Marshall’s. They are nice body washes and leave my skin feeling soft and smooth.
Skincare Products
Sheet Masks
Burts Bees Sheet Mask π
This smelled like Burts Bees lotions. I wouldn’t repurchase this mask at all. It was barely soaked and is okay for like 5 minute moisturizing. It was textured and did not adhere well at all.
Sephora Lychee Sheet Mask
This smelled super nice and was soaked well. It’s made of a thinner cotton and adhered really well. These masks are on the smaller side. I would repurchase this again if it were on sale, but I don’t think it’s worth $5-6 for it.
Aritaum Coconut Water Sheet Mask π₯₯
This mask was super refreshing and soaked well. The mask adhered nicely and stayed on. I fell asleep with the mask on and woke back up and it was still on my face! It also smells amazing. It fit really well and my skin was soft after using.
Jayjun Purple Fragrance Sheet Mask
This smelled strongly of perfume. It’s covered in a milky cream essence and was very soothing . It adhered well and fit nicely. It stayed wet for over an hour but left my face sticky.
Dear Packer Smart Solution Nourishing Sheet Mask
This fit perfectly on my face but it may be smaller for some. It smelled nice and clean , but the scent could be strong for those who are sensitive . It was covered in a nice gel like essence, and very soothing and cooling.
Pure Smile Rose Sheet Mask πΉ
Made of a thicker cotton but was soaked nicely. It fit well but didnβt adhere too well. It smelled really nice and is a good typical sheet mask for quick moisturizing. These are also super affordable.
Glowing Skin Egg Sheet Mask π³
I had never heard of this brand before using this. It was covered in a milky essence and very soothing and refreshing. The scent was the typical essence smell and my skin was soft after using it.
Innisfree Strawberry Sheet Mask π
This was made from thinner cotton and had a faint smell of strawberry. The sizing fit well and this adhered nicely. This was soaked in a lot of essence and overall is just a typical moisturizing mask.
Juju Green Tea Sheet Mask π΅
This was a cheapy sheet mask mainly intended for quick moisturizing. It’s made of a rough cotton and had a very small fit. It smelled like green tea and was soothing and refreshing.
Bio belle #Afterparty Sheet Mask
This was a thin, tencel mask and was literally dripping in essence. This is great for a hot day because it was very soothing. It adhered nicely and fit well. It smelled faintly of blueberry.
Dewytree Honey Sheet Mask π―
This mask was super soaked in a jelly essence. Sadly it didn’t smell much like honey and had kind of a fake smell to it π. I used this after using The Ordinary AHA/BHA mask and it was super soothing and refreshing. It had a cooling sensation on my skin and was soft after use.
Tonymoly Orange Sheet Mask π
These masks were one of the first I ever tried. This was soaked well and are your typical run of the mill mask. There was a slight orange smell.
Biobelle Pineapple #Rise&Shine Sheet Mask π
This mask had the cutest design with little pineapples all over it. It fit well and stretched nicely. This was a fiber sheet mask but the material was kind of rough. It smelled faintly of pineapple but more like aloe. This was super soaked with essence and very soothing.
Apieu Yogurt Sheet Mask π§
This mask actually smelled a bit like greek yogurt. It was a very thin, delicate mask and was super soaked with essence. It absorbed into skin well and was refreshing.
Fascy Aqua Sheet Mask π¦
The fit on this mask was really small and the material on this was rough. It was soaked well and refreshing.
Esfolio Lavender Sheet Mask
These masks are super affordable, and this smelled amazing. It was covered in a milky essence and soaked really well. My skin was noticeable softer after using this.
Amino Leaders Pore Leaders Tea Tree Sheet Mask π±
This mask was made of a thin, clear material and adhered really well. This was super refreshing after a shower and the mask was covered in a jelly essence.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer π
Love this moisturizer! I have already purchased a back up. It smells great, isn’t sticky or heavy and makes my skin soft. This is a great product for summer because of how lightweight it is.
Oliverrat 0 Chemical Squalene Oil
I see a lot of hype over this serum, and honestly it was okay but nothing magical. It hydrated my skin and made it softer, but it’s a pretty typical oil to me.
Erno Laszlo Firmarine Serum
I picked this up from TJ Maxx at a heavy discount from retail price. I’ve heard a lot of good thing about this brand so I wanted to check it out. I don’t have wrinkles yet, but I’ve started using products for preventive care. This was a nice serum, I can’t exactly comment on the wrinkle prevention. It’s worth picking up and trying if you can find it at a discount store.
Volition Strawberry C Serumπ
This worked pretty well on my skin, and left it soft and smooth. Sadly it didn’t smell too much like strawberry. While this was nice, it is quite pricey and for that reason I would probably not buy it again unless it was on a major sale. It didn’t win me over for the price tag.
Sunroi Mink Ointment Cream
I used this once and decided to throw it out. It smelled terribly! Yuck, would not recommend at all.
Too Cool for School Cherry Blossoms Mist πΈ
This was a refreshing face mist. No crazy bells and whistles, but it had a nice, gentle mist and hydrated my face well.
Supiyo Chaya Birch Toner π²
This was a decent toner. I used it to prep my skin in the morning. It cleanses well without drying out skin.
Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner π
This product worked really well. It does have a slight vinegar/herbal smell due to the fermentation. It comes in a nice, glass package. It does leave a tacky finish at first, but it goes away.
Fresh Rose Toner πΉ
Love love love this! I would have already repurchased this if it wasn’t so pricey. It smells wonderful, has actual rose petals in the toner and the larger bottle does last a decently long time. My skin feels refreshed and soft after using this. I will definitely repurchase this during a Sephora sale once I get through some of the other skincare items I have.
Elizavecca Gold Essence
This was your typical moisturizing serum. It worked similar to the way hyaluronic acid would. I didn’t think the gold flakes inside made any difference, to be honest.
Skin and Co Truffle Therapy Toner
I love this toner!! It’s pricey (about $30) or I’d buy it more often. I bought a backup the last time Dermstore had a sale, so thankfully I have another one. I love the way this smells, and it leaves my skin feeling clean but also super soft. Highly recommend trying this if you can find it on sale. I’ve found a few other products from this line at TJ Maxx, but it’s not a usual occurrence.
Skin and Co Truffle Therapy Serum
I was lucky enough to find this at TJ Maxx for like $10, because it retails at $70. It’s a good serum that left my skin feeling smooth and soft, but I wouldn’t ever spend the full price for this.
The Inkey List Hemp Moisturizer π
Generally, I would say this brand is similar to The Ordinary in that its products are effective and very well priced. This was a tiny little bottle (1 oz) so I went through this quickly. It didn’t really smell like hemp or weed. It was an okay moisturizer, but nothing crazy. I probably wouldn’t repurchase this again because of how tiny it is. Great for travel though!
Perricone MD Skin Perfecting Serum π©π½ββοΈ
This was a Marshall’s clearance find, but I actually really liked this product. It had almost a tingly feeling when applied, and it made my skin very soft and smooth. I sometimes suffer with little bumps on my cheeks, and this helped for sure. I would definitely repurchase this if I found it on sale again. The retail price of $60 dollars or so is just too steep for me.
Ole Henriksen Brightening Cleansing Cloths
These were nothing special to me. They had a nice citrus scent, but are typical run of the mill cleaning cloths. I felt like they didn’t cleanse my face as well as some of the drugstore brands do, and they dried out pretty quickly.
The Face Shop Mango Seed Essence Spray π₯
I loved this spray toner! It was lightweight and so refreshing. It smelled delicious and left my skin feeling soft. I always looked forward to using this. The bottle is also pretty large and lasted a long time. I highly recommend this if you come across it!
Thanks for reading and I hope everyone is safe and well! Kinda mad at myself for not sheet masking more while stuck in during this pandemic but hopefully I’ll get back on that and have a bunch more to review for you next time! I haven’t been updating the blog much these days, but you can find reviews via my Instagram posts and stories (ashysaurusrex).
